Currituck County Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children's Teacher for Tulls Creek Elementary School in Moyock, North Carolina. This full-time position starts immediately and reports to the Principal and Exceptional Children Director.

The candidate will plan high-quality lessons aligned to state standards, maintain a respectful, safe classroom, differentiate instruction for diverse learners, and use varied assessments to monitor progress.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
Must be certified in Special Education.
Valid North Carolina teaching license (or eligibility for licensure).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create engaging lesson plans and utilize various teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
Establish and maintain a respectful and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
Utilize a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support student success.
Engage in ongoing professional learning and participate in school initiatives.
Foster relationships with the community to enhance educational opportunities for students.
