Job summary

ROWAN COUNTY SENIOR HIGH SCHOO is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Exceptional Child to support students with disabilities under the supervision of the building principal and special education director.

The role involves assisting in implementation of IEP services, providing a conducive learning environment, and helping with behavior management and data collection for progress monitoring. Immediate start with a full-time position in Morehead, KY.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and passing score on the paraeducator exam; or
• Associate Degree

Responsibilities

• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Perform clerical duties as directed by the teacher.
• Under the guidance of the certified teacher, prepare for classroom activities and assist in delivering specially designed instruction.
• Assist the teacher in gathering and recording student progress data.
• Assist students with self-care and mobility needs.
• Assist in implementing adaptations/modifications to meet IEP goals.
• Support students across settings including resource room and classroom.
• Follow Safe Crisis Management as required by the IEP and behavior plans.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and refer parent requests to the teacher.
