Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores in Meridian, Idaho is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant with strong Excel and data manipulation skills to join our finance team. Under limited supervision you will perform invoice processing, customer payments, and basic accounts receivable tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of handling multiple tasks such as data entry, vendor invoices, deposits, and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Prior accounts receivable, payable, or other accounting related experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage deadlines.
• History of providing good customer service and collections knowledge.
• Effective communication with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry into accounting system.
• Evaluate source documents for accuracy, reconcile and verify data for entry.
• Process and create customer invoices, daily EFT settlements and post customer payment.
• Set up new customer accounts, ensure receipt of information and confirmations.
• Process vendor invoices through accounts payable software for payment approval.
• Communicate with vendors and resolve payment or billing issues.
• Report on daily bank activity to management.
• Process deposits including coding and posting payments.
• Conduct account research and provide support for internal and external customers.
• Assist with other reconciliations, duties or special projects as assigned.
