Job summary

Conti Civil LLC is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator for the Jacksonville, NC - OAJ project to safely and effectively operate equipment on site.

Responsibilities include pre-shift inspections, starting and operating machinery, coordinating with crew, loading and moving materials, and ensuring proper maintenance and safety compliance on a demanding construction site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience operating excavators (GPS experience preferred).
• Finished grading operating experience. Underground utilities excavation & installation experience a plus.
• Experience with basic tools and be mechanically inclined.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
• Solid knowledge of safety precautions while working.
• Exposure to construction site environments with extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, hazards and loud noise.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities per schedule.
• Reliable attendance and dependability.
• Provide personal transportation to and from the jobsite.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Perform documented pre-shift 360 walk-around inspection of the equipment.
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers to operate equipment.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals; guide others assisting your activity.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, and material.
• Ensure proper care in use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping (inspection, fluid levels, greasing, cleaning).
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
• Fluently operate excavator to cut ditches/excavations to finish grades; move, load, cast and separate materials without disturbing finish grade.
• Safely operate around overhead, at-grade, and underground utilities or obstacles.

What We Are Looking For

An experienced Excavator Operator for our Jacksonville, NC - OAJ project who can safely and effectively operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform documented pre-shift 360 walk-around inspection of the equipment
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate such stated equipment.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members, As well as guiding others assisting / supporting your activity.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, and material.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• must perform daily maintenance and housekeeping, including inspection, checking fluid levels, greasing, and cleaning.
• Follow safety policies and procedures
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
• Fluently use the excavator to accurately and efficiently cut ditches/excavations to finish grades. Move, Load, Cast, and separate materials without disrupting the finish grade and surroundings.
• Safely operate around overhead, at-grade, and underground utilities or obstacles.

Qualifications
