Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking an Excavator Operator to join our Specialty Services team. This role operates power-driven machinery to move dirt and materials, including excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and loaders on civil construction sites.

Reports to the Foreman and follows site procedures. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; a CDL may be required; NCCCO or NCCER certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of civil construction, excavation, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator and other heavy equipment on civil construction sites.
• Read and interpret load charts and signals; follow supervisor guidance.
• Perform routine maintenance such as greasing and checking fluids.
• Comply with company and client safety policies; maintain a safe work area.

We are seeking an Excavator Operator to join our Specialty Services team. This position is responsible for operating various power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials. May operate all or some of the following types of equipment: excavator, backhoe, bulldozer, dragline, front-end loader, motor grader, dump truck, etc. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required
• May require NCCCO or NCCER certifications
• General knowledge of civil construction and excavation
• General knowledge of maintaining level grade at defined elevations
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements

Moves hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric and gasoline equipment; interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed; reads and interprets load charts; may assemble or disassemble equipment or material on maintenance or construction sites; may be required to manipulate equipment on un-level working surfaces; may perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines/equipment; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
