Excavator Operator - Charlotte, NC Region

Join State Utility Contractors, Inc. as an Excavator Operator in the Charlotte, NC region. This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience, ranging from $55,000 to $75,000 per year.

Position Overview

Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience operating excavators (20,000 lbs. or more) on pipeline construction projects. Some manual labor may be required.

Main Responsibilities
  • Excavate line and grade for mainline waterline according to project plans
  • Excavate around existing utilities with precision
  • Implement trench depth & grade, pothole procedures, pipeline & grade compaction
  • Knowledge of excavation, trenching, shoring practices, and equipment maintenance
  • Understand and implement rigging for materials being lowered into trenches
  • Serve as OSHA certified competent person for trenching & shoring
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, overtime, and outdoors in extreme conditions
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Adherence to safety procedures and team-oriented attitude
