Page Mechanical Group, Inc. in Thibodaux, LA is seeking EXPERIENCED Excavator Operators for the Thibodaux area. You will safely operate excavators on canals and levees, move materials efficiently, and work with a diverse crew to complete tasks to specification.

Responsibilities include trenching, backfilling, grading, and daily logs, with health, safety, and environmental rules to follow. Expect 10–12 hour shifts, Mon–Fri, weekends as needed; pay is TBD DOE with weekly pay; must have a valid

Qualifications

• MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OPERATING AN EXCAVATOR.
• Must be able to transport/move material efficiently.
• Proficient with excavators of various sizes, haul trucks, loaders and skid steers; some experience on dozer.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of excavator.
• Perform excavations, backfilling, trenching, ditching, slope work, erosion control, grubbing, stumping, clearing, grading and final clean up.
• Observe signals and markings to meet specifications.
• Maintain daily equipment usage logs and perform routine maintenance.
• Follow health, safety and environmental rules to ensure a safe work environment.

• MUSTHAVE EXPERIENCE OPERATING AN EXCAVATOR
• Must be able to transport/move material efficiently
• Will be operating on existing canals and/or levees
• Required Skills:
  • Proficient in excavators of all sizes, haul trucks, loaders and skid steers with some experience on dozer as well.
  • Well versed handling trench boxes of all sizes and shapes
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination
  • Ability to work independently and self motivated
  • Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal
• Duties/Responsibilites:
  • Safe operation of excavator
  • Operate machinery to perform activities such as excavations, backfilling, trenching, ditching, slope work, erosion control, grubbing, stumping, clearing, looming, fine grading and final clean up
  • Observe hand signals, grade stakes or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications
  • Handling and/or moving material
  • Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
  • Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances the safety of the work environment
  • Daily maintenance of equipment
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods
  • Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis
  • Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
  • Have endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Required Credentials:
  • Driver's License/Identification
  • Social Security Card/Birth Certificate
• Must provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, & gloves)
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a DISA Drug screen, physical, and background check.

  • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
• Schedule:
  • 10-12 Hour Days
  • Monday - Friday
  • Weekends (as needed)
• Duration of Job:Approximately 4 years
