Job summary

PlumbX, LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to work on commercial construction and underground plumbing projects in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe and surrounding New Mexico areas.

Candidates will operate excavators and front-end loaders safely, excavate trenches, grade and backfill, and coordinate with plumbing crews on underground water and sewer installations. Strong safety, reliability, and communication are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Previous excavator operating experience required.
• Previous front-end loader operating experience required.
• Commercial construction or underground utility experience preferred.
• Experience excavating trenches for water and sewer installations preferred.
• Ability to grade and backfill accurately.
• Knowledge of safe excavation practices.
• Ability to work around existing underground utilities.
• Ability to follow grade, depth, and layout requirements.
• Strong situational awareness when working around ground personnel.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Working cell phone required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavators and front-end loaders.
• Excavate trenches for water, sewer, and underground plumbing systems.
• Perform grading, backfilling, and site preparation.
• Excavate to required depths and elevations.
• Work safely around existing underground utilities.
• Load, move, and place dirt and construction materials.
• Assist with underground utility and plumbing installations.
• Perform basic daily equipment inspections.
• Identify and report equipment problems or unsafe conditions.
• Communicate effectively with plumbers, laborers, foremen, and ground personnel.
• Follow excavation and job-site safety requirements.
