Job summary

Ohio Valley Electrical Services, Inc. is seeking an Excavation Laborer to support grading, trenching, and site preparation on our projects. The role emphasizes hands-on excavation work, conduit awareness, and teamwork to meet project timelines.

The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years in excavation or site work and comfortable operating or assisting with heavy equipment. OSHA safety adherence and reliable transportation are preferred. This is a full-time on-site position with overtime possibilities.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years in excavation or site work
• Able to read grade stakes and interpret site plans
• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred
• Experience with electrical conduit is strongly preferred
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
• Physically demanding work in various weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling operations
• Perform site preparation, including clearing, digging, and material handling
• Read grade stakes, interpret site plans, and maintain proper elevations
• Operate or assist in operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, or loaders
• Support installation of underground utilities, including electrical conduit
• Ensure trenches and work areas are safe and compliant with OSHA standards
• Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment
• Follow safety procedures and company policies
