Job description

EXAM WRITER - Remote

Your day to day

We are seeking a qualified exam writer with a background in nuclear operations, licensed or certified as PWR SRO, and experienced in developing NRC exam materials for initial and continuing licensed operator training programs.

  1. Develop and administer NRC exams: Create and oversee the LOIT final written exams, audit exams, JPMs, and simulator scenarios that meet current regulatory requirements and align with ILT program design and content, considering industry NRC feedback.
  2. Develop LOIT and LOCT exams and JPMs: Design and implement exams and JPMs for LOIT and LOCT programs, including biennial written exams, annual operating exams, and simulator evaluations, ensuring compliance with regulations and program content.
  3. Coordinate with NRC examiners: Work directly with NRC examiners during exam validation to secure approved and valid exams for LOIT classes.
  4. Maintain security and support tools: Ensure exam security procedures are followed and administer the QuizzTBot application to support student learning.
  5. Additional responsibilities: Develop non-licensed training exams, support exam validation processes, and adhere to all security protocols.
Who You Are:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • BS in Engineering (required)
  • Minimum 8 years of applicable nuclear operations experience; 10+ years preferred
  • Leadership skills and experience interfacing with multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in product development, modeling & simulation, code development, or software/I&C is a plus
