Purpose

Under direct supervision, operates basic saw types such as Chain saws, Bunk Saws, and CNC Beam saws to cut Engineered Wood products according to work orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates basic saw types such as Chain saws, Bunk Saws, and CNC Beam saws to cut Engineered Wood products according to work orders.
  • Reviews work order to determine cut(s) to be made.
  • Adjusts saw for required cuts.
  • Adjusts speed of saw and feed rolls.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles, and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Drives various lifting devices (e.g., forklift) to move products, equipment, or materials around the warehouse, shop, or yard.
  • Performs load-building, ensuring the load is balanced and safe for hauling based on customer orders and vehicle capacity.
  • Conveys materials to or from storage to designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other devices.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on containers for correct identification.
  • Other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED and three months of experience in similar tasks, or equivalent education and experience. Forklift certification required.

Work Environment / Physical Activity

The physical demands include working in a production environment with temperature variations, chemicals, mechanical parts, noise, and dust. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds on occasion, with assistance for heavier lifts.
