Job summary

Netsmart, located in Overland Park, KS, is seeking an early-career Software Engineer to join the EVV team. You will help design, build, and maintain Java-based integration solutions and APIs that connect healthcare platforms, enabling secure data movement across systems.

Collaborate with product managers and engineers in an Agile environment, participate in code reviews, and grow skills in backend services, testing, and software quality within a healthcare technology context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with Java through work, internships, or projects.
• Understanding of OOP, SQL, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, or data exchange concepts.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Design and maintain Java-based integration solutions for healthcare platforms.
• Build and improve APIs, services, and data exchange workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Troubleshoot issues through root cause analysis and debugging.
• Develop and run automated/manual tests to ensure quality and performance.
