City of North Myrtle Beach is seeking an experienced mechanic to maintain and repair a wide range of City and Fire Department vehicles and heavy equipment. The role involves diagnosing electrical, hydraulic and mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with the Fleet Superintendent.

The ideal candidate holds EVT/ASE certifications and a strong background in heavy/diesel repair, with a valid driver’s license and manufacturer-specific trainings.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma with vocational/technical training in automotive/diesel/mechanical repair.
• Seven years of experience as a mechanic, including five years as heavy/diesel and/or EVT mechanic.
• Valid driver’s license, EVT Certification, ASE Certification, and manufacturer-specific training (Ford, Caterpillar, Cummins, etc.).

Aufgaben

• Perform maintenance, diagnosis and repair on gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Repair, overhaul and maintain City and Fire Department vehicles; inspect, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical and braking systems.
• Operate diagnostic computers, design and fabricate specialized equipment, and coordinate shop workload with the Fleet Superintendent.
