Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to clean and disinfect patient rooms, surgical suites, and clinical areas. The role requires handling various waste streams and following infection control policies.

Responsibilities include using proper cleaning systems, maintaining safety signage, and supporting bed management and OR set-ups as needed. This position is part-time with shift variations and offers a sign-on bonus and shift differential.

Qualifications

• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, surgical suites, clinical areas, office spaces, corridors and stairwells per policy.
• Handles municipal, recyclable, pharmaceutical, biohazard, chemotherapeutic, and sharps waste.
• Uses hospital-approved cleaners and power equipment correctly to protect floors and fixtures.
• Reports repairs as directed and follows infection control policies.

Responsibilities

• Stand, walk and perform cleaning duties across hospital areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment and manage waste disposal per protocols.
• Maintain signage and safety measures to prevent slips and injuries.
• Ensure proper room turnover and readiness for patient care.
