Job summary

CHI Health Midlands is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) to clean and sanitize patient areas, support safe hospital operations, and assist in maintaining a sanitary environment for patients, staff and visitors.

You will use various cleaning devices, handle waste and linens, report maintenance needs, and ensure equipment is clean and functional. The role offers PPE, on-site work, and a competitive hourly pay range.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas as assigned daily following established procedures.
• Operates manual, battery-powered and electric equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners and vacuums. Maintains and stores all equipment in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Collects, handles and disposes of designated waste streams and soiled linens in the prescribed manner.
• Completes stat and routine discharge room cleans.
• Identifies and reports work orders for maintenance/refurbishing needs.
• Inspects EVS equipment for cleanliness and need for repair.
