Job summary

Valley Children’s Healthcare is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain clean, safe patient rooms, offices, restrooms, clinics, and common areas across the medical center under the supervision of the EVS shift supervisor.

You will follow infection control practices and regulatory standards to ensure the facility is hygienically clean and welcoming for patients, families, staff and guests. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Education High School Diploma (preferred).
• Work Experience Minimum two (2) years Housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality (preferred).
• Minimum three (3) years Frontline customer experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, clinics, lobbies and other spaces.
• Follow Environmental Services infection control practices and regulatory standards.
• Provide hygienic and aesthetically clean environment for patients, families, staff and guests.
• Work under the EVS shift supervisor and ensure quality and safety in all duties.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the EVS shift supervisor, this position is responsible for daily cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, clinics, lobbies, and other ancillary spaces in the medical center in accordance with Environmental Services infection control practices and regulatory standards. The EVS Tech provides services to ensure the facility is aesthetically and hygienically clean and acceptable for our patients, families, staff and guests.

Skills and Abilities

• Must be able to read, write legibly, understand, and follow oral instruction.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with department staff, hospital employees, physicians, patients and public, and work independently using good judgment and common sense.
• Must be able to apply disinfection cleaning practice as acquired through training.
• Good customer/patient relations skills.
• Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals when in use and secure from public contact.
• Must be able protect confidential patient information.
• Bilingual Skills Preferred.
