• Monitors linen usage and reviews statistics with the Environmental Services Director.
• Schedules personnel for proper coverage of the facility.
• Ensures patient care units are adequately stocked with linen.
• Ensures quality standards are met by inspecting completed work.
• Ensures all equipment is tested regularly.
• Maintains records of orientation and in-service training programs.
• Assists in completing performance evaluations.
• Performs routine cleaning in assigned areas following schedules and methods.
• Cleans and services nurses’ stations, patient rooms, restrooms, and offices.
• Cleans and dusts furniture and equipment.
• Cleans windows, empties trash baskets, and arranges furniture and equipment.
• Polishes and cleans doors and windows.
• Vacuums, dust mops, and wet mops all patient rooms and restrooms daily.
• Promotes teamwork daily and reports problems to the Manager.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EVS Tech Lead HOURS: Days and hours vary. Some weekend work required.

Position Summary

The EVS Tech Lead assists the EVS Supervisor with coordinating daily housekeeping activities to ensure the hospital maintains a clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly environment. The EVS Tech Lead provides guidance and direction to housekeeping staff, monitors work assignments, and ensures cleaning procedures are performed in accordance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. The EVS Tech Lead performs routine and terminal cleaning as needed, conducts quality inspections, ensures proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and promotes compliance with infection control, safety, and waste management procedures. The EVS Tech Lead assists with staff training, supply inventory, and resolution of housekeeping concerns while demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and teamwork. The EVS Tech Lead helps ensure all assigned areas meet established cleanliness standards to support patient safety and quality care.

• Ensures that quality standards are met by inspecting completed work.
• Ensures all equipment is tested regularly.
• Investigates, documents and reports all unusual occurrences to the Environmental Services Director.
• Maintains records of orientation and in-service training programs.
• Assists the Environmental Services Director in completing performance evaluations.
• Performs routine cleaning in assigned areas following established schedules and prescribed methods.
• Cleans and services nurses’ stations, patient rooms, restrooms, and offices.
• Cleans and dusts furniture and equipment.
• Cleans windows, empties trash baskets, and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Scours and polishes bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar equipment.
• Replenishes supplies of soap and towels.
• Polishes and cleans doors and windows.
• Vacuums, dust mops, and wet mops all patient rooms and restrooms each day.
• Promotes team work daily, communicates and reports problems and concerns to the Manager.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Experience

• Work-related experience required.

Education

• High school diploma or GED state certification or similar demonstrated ability preferred but not required.
