Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an EVS Tech II to support cleaning and infection prevention across hospital environments. The role focuses on disinfection, timely room turnover in surgical and specialty areas, and maintaining a clean, safe workplace for staff and visitors.

The position is hourly, with starting pay of $17.66–$19.63 per hour, determined by experience and equity. Candidates should have basic janitorial experience and strong communication skills; CNACC/CHEST/CSCT certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience: 6 months in janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred certifications in cleaning or environmental services are a plus.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The EVS Tech II, in accordance with standards of quality, is an essential contributor to promoting a healthy workplace through disinfection and infection prevention. The EVS Tech II is responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, while ensuring an organized and disinfected environment for employees and visitors. This role is also responsible for ensuring timely room cleans in surgical, procedural and specialty environments in order to meet facility needs. The EVS Tech II may perform additional functions as needed to provide EVS support.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: 6 months experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services position.

Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/ GED Experience: 1-year environmental services experience Licensure/ Certification: Certificate in Non-Acute Care Cleaning (CNACC) certification, Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification, or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) certification.
