Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an EVS Tech I to promote a clean and healthy workplace within our hospital environment. You will perform routine cleaning tasks, ensuring disinfected areas for employees and visitors, and support patient throughput by timely room cleans.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months of janitorial or environmental services experience. CNACC or CHEST certification is preferred, and OSF is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Expected pay for this position is $17.00 - $18.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The EVS Tech I, in accordance with standards of quality, is an essential contributor to promoting a healthy workplace through disinfection and infection prevention. The EVS Tech I is responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, while ensuring an organized and disinfected environment for employees and visitors. This role is also responsible for ensuring timely room cleans, especially as it relates to hospital patient throughput and responds favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignment to meet hospital/discharge flow needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills/ Knowledge:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

• 6 months’ experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services position

Licensure/ Certification:

• Certificate in Non-Acute Care Cleaning (CNACC) certification or Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification
