Exciting Opportunity: Environmental Services - Part Time

Location: 2600 Belmont Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19131

Your Impact

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for providing a clean environment to all assigned areas including but not limited to resident rooms, offices, bathrooms, and storage areas. Is responsible for the daily sweeping, mopping, and burnishing of main corridor and resident room floors. Assists other environmental service team members in movement of furniture within the confines of Resident rooms. Has knowledge of and can demonstrate sanitizing and disinfection of washrooms, bath and common areas. Will perform all duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

  • Gathers necessary equipment and chemicals as outlined in Environmental Policy and Procedures.
  • Cleans sinks daily and furniture within the confines of the resident’s rooms.
  • Cleans and sanitizes unit bathrooms, shower rooms, utility rooms, medications rooms and nourishment stations.
  • Maintains adequate supplies in all assigned areas. Checks and restocks paper and soap products as necessary.
  • Checks and empties trashcans. Disinfects cans and replaces liner as needed.
  • Disinfects interior and exterior toilet bowl as outlined in department policy and procedure.
  • Disinfects bathroom stall and shower stall walls as outlined in department policy and procedure.
  • Dust mops and sweeps floors to include corner and edges.
  • Uses the photo card file to identify residents before assisting a resident with any beverage, food consumption or cigarette smoking.
  • Participates in appropriate in-service training programs prior to performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood/body fluids.
  • If caddy isolation is on a resident door, proceeds to nursing station for detailed isolation instructions.
  • Reports any non-operating or broken piece of equipment to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Uses wet floor signs when mopping. disinfecting floor.

What We Are Looking For

High school education or GED preferred.

Relevant experience in Environmental Services including but not limited to housekeeping, laundry, service technician, or floor technician to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies /personnel and the public.

Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.

Pay Range for this Role: $15.43
