Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Lead/supervisory experience in Environmental Services preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year Hospital Environmental Services work experience required.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, record keeping, and maintenance of power equipment.
• Ability to interact with patients, visitors, and all levels of hospital employees in an appropriate manner.
• Good to excellent communication skills.
• Availability to work variable hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work flow in the EVS department and informs supervisor of deviations.
• Assists on-the-job training for EVS staff and new hires on equipment and cleaning methods.
• Maintains cost-conscious use of time and coordinates daily tasks.
• Oversees linen ordering and distribution to meet patient care needs.
• Considers the hospital’s overall function in relation to patient care.
• Knows schedules and procedures in Environmental Services.
