Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV is seeking an Environmental Services Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and safety across patient areas. You will support operations, coordinate assignments during absences, and use bed-board tech as needed.

The role requires floor care experience and the ability to operate cleaning equipment; a HS diploma is preferred. Weekend rotations and a day shift from 7:00 to 3:30 will apply, with a focus on professionalism and patient respect.

Qualifications

• Must have floor care experience and be able to operate all floor care equipment.
• Successful pass WV DHHR Protected Services Record Check and WV CARES fingerprint-based background check if assigned to certain centers.

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping duties and maintains cleanliness/productivity expectations 100% of the time.
• Coordinate assignments of team members and act as contact person in the absence of management.
• Utilize Epic bed board technology when management is absent.
• Communicate openly and effectively; contribute to organizational goals.
• Work as a team member to achieve departmental goals 100% of the time.
• Provide relief assistance to staff as needed.
• Schedule, conduct, and document initial and ongoing training on chemicals, equipment and cleaning techniques.
• Complete environmental service shift reports in management's absence.
• Treat patients, visitors and staff with dignity and respect 100% of the time.
• Follow hospital and departmental policies 100% of the time.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Support change and new ideas as appropriate.
• Operate all housekeeping equipment including Infectious Waste Sterilizer.
