Title EVS Coordinator - Battle Creek, 3rd shift , 10:30p-6:30a, 72H pp
Works with EVS Management, support staff and Floor Tech team to facilitate the maintenance, upkeep and repairs of all EVS equipment. Responsible for maintaining, expanding upon and improving current support process associated with EVS floor care equipment and supplies. Assesses all internal repair requests and determines appropriate next steps for repairs including but not limited to repairing equipment onsite, getting and approving repair estimates with vendor, checking repairs are done properly and overseeing the returning of equipment to operation.
High School diploma. Valid Michigan Driver’s License Proof of car insurance Mechanical or Electrical certification for small or medium size equipment repair preferred but not required in lieu of work experience. One to two years' experience in similar job preferred. Must be mechanically inclined with a strong aptitude for problem solving equipment issues to root cause and suggest ideas for repair. More emphasis is on effectively managing the process rather than spending time repairing equipment. Employee will be responsible for making those calls and/or checking with one up for best course of action. All tracking and maintenance logs currently exist in Excel. Will need to be fluent with MS Word and Excel to be able to maintain and create spreadsheets to include the creation of charts and graphs in order to convey needed information pertinent to job. Must be able to see the big picture and overall goal of position in order to continually prioritize and adjust methods and time on a day to day basis in order to meet those goals.
Assessing tagged equipment for repair: All broken or tagged equipment must be evaluated and a determination made with best course of action which takes into account one’s own time and department resources.
Must be able to accurately communicate with repair vendor regarding all needed repairs and assure correct repairs where done. Must have the ability to problem solve and think creatively in order to develop and maintain processes needed to stay on top of job duties and responsibilities. Work which rarely produces a high level of mental/visual fatigue, i.e., less than 20 percent of the work time. Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects.
Preventative Maintenance: Developing and maintaining a system for Preventative Maintenance for all floor care equipment. PM system to include maintaining and keeping current a record system for all equipment and use of software program to be chosen and implemented 50% Preventative Maintenance: Repairs to equipment cost valuable productivity time and money. Not preventing costly repairs by prevention effects cleanliness and productivity of staff. Not having equipment in working order effects staff moral in a negative way. EVS manager will do periodic benefit analysis of PM Plan for effectiveness and develop any needed adjustments with Equipment Coordinator. Ongoing deficiencies of plan effectiveness, employee competencies and quality of performance in achieving job tasks and goals will be handled using Bronson’s performance correction path guidelines.
Coordinates Equipment Repairs: Not coordinating repairs accurately and timely creates wasted time and effects service to patients and customers. Manager will oversee repairs and communicate with Equipment Coordinator on any adjustments. Performance evaluation and evaluating accuracy of systems will be done weekly, monthly and annually by EVS Manager. Ongoing deficiencies of plan effectiveness, employee competencies and quality of performance in achieving job tasks and goals will be handled using Bronson’s performance correction path guidelines.
Supply chain: Not having adequate supplies on hand hinders service to patients and visitors. Not running out of supplies and evaluating par level systems will be a key factor in evaluating performance. This will be done daily or as needed. Issues will be followed up on by following Bronson’s performance correction path guidelines.
Rounding: Not inspecting needed areas on a regular basis for accuracy causes equipment and supplies to become fragmented and not where they belong. Additional time and recourses would be needed to re-align equipment and supplies properly. Rounding and audits of rooms will be done daily, weekly and monthly for accuracy. Manager will follow up with any performance issues.
Reporting: (Clerical/Office/Computer/Record Keeping): Not keeping up with office time or poor time management will create a lack of accurate reporting habits. Creating and building in solid workflow that sets aside time to manage reporting is critical. Sloppy, inaccurate and untimely reporting will result in verbal and/or written discipline by Manager.
