Job summary

IRMC in the United States is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Aide to clean and disinfect occupied and discharged patient rooms, hallways, and common areas, following universal precautions and hospital safety protocols.

You will operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and buffers, enter maintenance work orders, replenish supplies, transport waste, and assist with linen handling as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and stretch throughout shift.
• Ability to read and write to comprehend assignments and safety messages.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect occupied and discharged patient rooms.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor scrubber, buffer).
• Enter work orders for maintenance repairs.
• Transport and dispose of waste according to regulations.
• Replenish paper supplies and hand hygiene products house wide.
• Follow universal precautions and safety protocols.

• Cleaning and disinfecting occupied and discharged patient rooms
• Utilizing proper identification and usage of chemicals
• Cleaning and disinfecting beds and stretchers
• Entering work orders for maintenance repairs
• Identifying and changing cubical curtains as needed
• Emptying grease carts
• Performing a terminal clean in the Operating Rooms and Cath labs
• Collecting and transporting Regular trash and Regulated Medical Waste
• Emptying all trash and linen bins and replacing liners
• Replenishing paper supplies and hand hygiene products house wide
• Transporting, storing, and identifying rental equipment
• Placement and removal of wet floor signage
• Adhering to universal precautions and safety protocols
• Utilizing a variety of machines (vacuum, floor scrubber, buffer, etc.)
• Utilizing interpersonal skills that allow courteous and effective collaboration with others
• Lifting, pushing, pulling, and stretching throughout an entire work shift
• Able to read and write in order to comprehend assignments, messages, safety, coworkers, and visitors
