Job summary

Black Oak Casino is seeking an Environmental Services/ custodian to clean ceilings, walls, floors, and furniture across the casino and related buildings. Responsibilities include mopping, dusting, restroom maintenance, and reporting issues to supervisors.

The role requires at least 18 years old, English literacy for OSHA/MSDS compliance, and the ability to pass a drug test and obtain a gaming license. Physical work includes lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year custodial experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, and standards preferred.
• Must read English to ensure compliance with OSHA and MSDS.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• May require CA driver’s license and casino permit.
• Must possess and maintain eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, polishes, and strips floors.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, blinds, and equipment.
• Cleans restrooms and refills dispensers.
• Vacuums, spot cleans, and shampoos rugs, carpets, and furniture.
• Reports malfunctions to Porter Lead/Supervisor.
• Makes rounds to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Initiates work orders for repair/maintenance.
• Stocks areas with supplies.
• Moves furniture, equipment or fixtures as required.
• Washes dishes or utensils as required.
• May replace light bulbs.
• Identifies and corrects unsafe practices and conditions.
• Provides professional, courteous service to Team Members and Guests.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY: Under direction/supervision of EVS Supervisor and/or EVS Lead, cleans ceilings, walls, floors, windows, slot machines and all related furniture and equipment in and out of the Casino including offices and assigned buildings on property and other associated areas.Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)Sweeps, mops, polishes, and strips floors.Dusts and/or polishes furniture, blinds, and equipment.Cleans restrooms and fills dispensers.Vacuums, spot cleans, and/or shampoos rugs, carpets, and furniture using commercial type vacuum cleaners and shampooing equipment.Reports malfunction of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, and/or damages to room and hall furnishings to Porter Lead/Supervisor.Makes continuous rounds, as directed, throughout the Casino and associated property to maintain cleanliness appearance standards.Initiates work orders for repair/maintenance.Stocks areas with appropriate supplies.Moves furniture, equipment or fixtures as required.Washes dishes or utensils as required.May replace light bulbs.Identifies and corrects unsafe practices and conditions.Provides professional, courteous service and is cordial to all Team Members and Guests.Performs other duties as assigned.Mandatory Requirements:High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.Prefer one (1) year of custodial experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education, from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques, and standards preferred.Must be able to read English in order to ensure that all chemical handling is conducted in compliance with OSHA and MSDS standards.Must be at least 18 years old.May be required to possess and maintain a California Driver’s license and a Black Oak Casino driver’s permit.Must possess skill in using cleaning products and equipment.Must be able to communicate using 2-way radios and/or cell phones.Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.Physical Demands:Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and occasionally more with assistance.Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.Required to work at heights such as on scaffolding, ladders, or platforms.Required to wear protective equipment due to possible exposure to chemicals or Blood Borne Pathogens.Work Environment:Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.Must be able to work in a noisy environment.Potential exposure to infectious diseases.Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
