Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a dedicated housekeeping/janitorial professional to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions across patient care, administrative offices, and public areas. The role requires adherence to infection control standards and proper handling of cleaning chemicals throughout the shift.

The position runs a shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a flat hourly rate of $25.00, including a weekend-only requirement, and internal opportunities may be available for non-ratified unit

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand written instructions and labels.
• Knowledge of health and sanitation standards.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors and hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean working environment in patient care, offices, and public areas.
• Clean and maintain assigned areas according to hospital standards.
• Use appropriate protective equipment and practice hand hygiene at all times.
• Maintain current status with hospital requirements (TB skin test, fit testing, trainings).
• Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.

What You Will Do

This job performs a variety of housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain order and sanitary conditions in patient care, administrative offices, and public areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
• Previous housekeeping / janitorial experience, strongly preferred.

Essential Functions

• Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
• Clean and maintain assigned areas according to TCMC standards.
• Maintain a safe environment at all time. This includes the proper use of wet floor signs.
• Use appropriate protective equipment while performing duties. This includes proper hand washing and hand sanitizing at all times.
• Understand the role and responsibility of the position in the event of a disaster.
• Clean discharge/occupied rooms according to the departmental training checklist.
• Maintain professional and courteous customer service at all times.
• Maintain current status with all hospital requirements (Annual TB Skin Test, Fit Testing, Net Learning, other requirements).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be able to work with cleaning solutions and chemicals and have knowledge of proper handling of these cleaning solutions. Must demonstrate ability to complete on-the-job training, including the proper operational procedures for the cleaning equipment and tools, and must demonstrate knowledge of health and sanitation standards. Required to read and understand written instructions and labels and to communicate with supervisors, health care staff and environmental service employees
