About the Role: Job SummaryUnder the supervision of a credentialed Physician, assists in endovascular lab procedures while maintaining a sterile field. Performs various procedures that require independent judgment and high level of skill proficiency.Assists with care of critically ill patients. The scope of care includes age group adolescent thru geriatric.
Licensure or other certifications: Registered Cardio Interventional Specialist (RCIS), Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT(R)), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT) required.In lieu of registry, Paramedic license or ten (10) years of endovascular experience will be accepted. Current BLS and ACLS certification required.

Ensures that correct patient data is entered into x-ray computer and that correct technical factors for each patient are selected to achieve optimal picture quality.
Ensures that correct surgical paperwork is completed.
Preps the procedure room and equipment for procedure to be performed, to include cleaning, removal of trash, and restocking of room between cases.
Maintains sterile technique throughout invasive procedures, at the end of the procedure, assures that the surgical equipment is placed in the appropriate containers and taken to SPD.
Prepares for procedure in terms of sterile supplies required.
Ensures patients are prepped and draped appropriately, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
Assists the Physician during both endovascular and open vascular cases as evidenced by knowledge of selected equipment, selection and care of catheters, guidewires, stents, grafts, and other necessary supplies.
Trained in vascular sheath removal with adequate hemostasis. If credentialed, has ability to deploy vascular closure devices using proper sterile technique.
Performs and rotates through functions of scrub, circulating (not administering medications), and monitoring positions.
Sets up, operates, and troubleshoots fluoroscopy and digital radiological equipment, including post processing of films and cine.
Ensures that required pre-, intra-, and post- procedure is present and accurate when documenting in the patient EMR.
Prepares and operates specialized equipment found in the EVOR environment
Performs and documents daily operational functions on procedure room equipment on designated documentation form.
Ensures that patient procedures/supply charges are accurate prior to placing in charging/billing system
Ability to scrub open cases in an OR setting, frequently switching from an endovascular case to an open case.
Ability to take call shifts with a response time of 30 minutes
Maintains a team environment and culture.
Assumes responsibility for own personal and professional development.
Assists in orientation of new staff and/or serves as a mentor.
Serves as facilitator between staff and Manager providing feedback as necessary.
Completes unit based skills annually.
Attends mandatory educational classes pertaining to new equipment, procedures, supplies, and new technology. Responsible for continuing education for required certifications.
Assists with the documentation for the department's PI proframs and participates in the department's process improvement initiatives.
