The Department of Biology in the Eberly College of Science (https://science.psu.edu/bio) at Penn State seeks applicants for an Assistant/Associate Level Tenure Track faculty position in Evolutionary Genomics.
Our department specializes in Evolutionary Genomics/Genetics, Ecology, Plant Biology, Neuroscience, Coral Biology, Microbiome Science, and Infectious Disease Dynamics. The successful candidate's research may include wet-lab, computational, and/or theoretical approaches. We value interdisciplinary work and collaboration across departments and colleges, including fields like chemistry, math, biochemistry, statistics, engineering, medicine, health sciences, social sciences, and data science/machine learning.
The candidate is expected to develop an independent, externally funded, and internationally recognized research program, contribute to teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and participate in departmental, college, university, and professional service.
Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience. Those at the Associate Professor level should also demonstrate a record of research and mentoring.
