Job summary

City of Omaha is seeking a detail-oriented Evidence Warehouse Technician for the Omaha Police Department to manage the intake, labeling, storage, and release of evidentiary items, including firearms, drugs, money, and hazardous materials. The role requires high school diploma and at least two years in a law enforcement evidence environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
• Valid driver's license required; background investigation will be conducted.
• Must meet pre-employment background standards including criminal and credit checks.

Responsibilities

• Receives, logs, and labels items of evidence and maintains chain of custody in the system.
• Prepares evidence for storage and stores according to CALEA and OPD standards.
• Releases items upon valid requisitions and maintains detailed records.
• Assists with internal audits and CALEA compliance.
• Testifies in court about evidentiary matters as required.
