Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our full-time team in Gainesville. You will evaluate patients, develop individualized plans, and deliver hands-on OT interventions to restore independence and confidence.

Collaboration with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team ensures safe, effective recovery. You will educate patients and families, monitor progress, document outcomes, and support seamless transitions of care in a hospital setting

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid State Occupational Therapist license.
• Graduate of a recognized vocational OT program.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs to develop individualized therapy plans with physicians and care team.
• Delivering skilled, evidence-based OT interventions to promote healing, independence, and quality of life.
• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring timely, thorough documentation.
• Educating patients and families to foster understanding and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care and exceptional patient experiences.
• Leading by example and providing guidance to therapy assistants or students while upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission.
