As a Lifeguard at Innovative Attraction Management (IAM), you will perform an essential task in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our Guests at our various resorts. This position requires a passion for being a first responder and a commitment to providing a safe environment while Guests enjoy our pools and attractions. Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring Guests in aquatic areas, providing consistent surveillance, and acting as first responders in emergencies. You will be certified by the StarGuard Elite Lifeguard program. This job demands the ability to stand for long periods while monitoring the pool deck and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

The pay rate for this role varies based on the type of lifeguard positions available. Specialized Deep Water Lifeguards are paid at a rate of $19.00/Hr. Shallow Water Lifeguards are paid at a rate of $17.00/Hr. Full-time positions require full availability every day of the week, including weekends and holidays, while part-time positions require availability for any three days of the week. Strong observational skills are essential to proactively identify Guest needs and ensure safety guidelines are followed. You will also need to engage positively with Guests, team members, and client partners through strong verbal communication skills. Lifeguard training and certification will be provided, and successful completion of the StarGuard Life Certification Course is mandatory to perform the duties of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Guests in aquatic/pool areas and provide constant surveillance of pool areas to ensure Guest safety.
  • Perform responsibilities related to the StarGuard Elite Aquatic Risk Prevention Program.
  • Perform life-saving techniques, CPR, and first aid procedures in emergencies.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time while monitoring the pool deck.
  • Work in an outdoor setting during various weather conditions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck by removing used towels, life jackets, and trash.
  • Attend 4 hours of in-service training per month to retain an active certification.
  • Conduct ELITE Dispatch protocols for Guests on various attractions such as rope swings, jump platforms, waterslides, etc.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by your leadership team.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Full Time requires full availability every day of the week/weekends, and holidays, any shift, including evenings.
  • Part-time requires full availability for any 3 days, any shift, including evenings.
  • Strong observational skills to proactively identify Guest needs and ensure safety guidelines are being followed.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to positively engage with Guests, team members, and leadership.
  • Ability to observe all sections of an assigned zone.
  • StarGuard Elite Lifeguard training is provided and must be completed.
  • Ability to perform work that may involve lifting Guests in and out of the pool up to 100 lbs. or more with assistance.
  • Swim Test: Swim 200 yards. Retrieve a 10-lb brick from the maximum depth of the facility. Tread for water for (1) minute without the use of your hands.
  • Physical tasks requiring heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and kneeling.
