Pluribus Digital in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack– Backend) with Ruby on Rails proficiency to join our delivery team building secure, cloud-based applications for Federal agencies.

You will work in small cross-functional teams to translate business goals into robust technical solutions, design responsive features, and contribute across the full stack while participating in CI/CD and Agile ceremonies.

Formación

• 8+ years professional software development experience
• 4+ years professional Ruby on Rails development
• Strong front-end development experience using React
• Experience deploying applications through CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments like AWS
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
• Fundamental understanding of Object Oriented Programming and RESTful API development
• Test-driven or behavior-driven development practices

Responsabilidades

• Translate business goals into effective technical solutions using Ruby on Rails and modern web technologies
• Design and implement responsive, accessible, user-facing features
• Support the full product lifecycle: backlog refinement, development, testing, documentation, delivery
• Participate in pair programming, code reviews, retrospectives, and Agile ceremonies
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, researchers, architects, and engineers
• Work in a cloud-based CI/CD environment and build/integrate RESTful APIs

Role Description

You will work within small cross-functional teams to build andmaintainsecure, modern cloud-based applications for Federal agencies. This role emphasizes back-end implementation and front-end user-facing functionality while contributing across the full stack and the entire product lifecycle.

WhatYou’llDo

• Translate business goals into effective technical solutions usingRuby on Rails and modern web technologies
• Design and implement responsive, accessible, user-facing features
• Support the full product lifecycle:
  • backlog refinement
  • development
  • testing
  • documentation
  • delivery
• Participate in pair programming, code reviews, retrospectives, and Agile ceremonies
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, researchers, architects, and engineers
• Work in a cloud-based Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery environment
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs powering front-end experiences
• Ensure applications are secure, scalable, and maintainable

Testing & Engineering Practices

• TDD and/or BDD methodologies
• Automated testing with tools such as: Mocha, RSpec, Jasmine, or similar frameworks
• Collaborative development practices including pair programming

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to obtain andmaintainaPublic Trust Clearance
• Proven success working within an Agile development team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A bias towards action, comfort with ambiguity or changing priorities
• 8+ years professional software development experience
• 4+ years professional Ruby on Rails development experience
• Strong front-end development experience using React
• Experience deploying applications through CI/CD pipelines and cloud environmentslike AWS CLI
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
• Fundamental understanding and ability to apply skills in Infrastructure, and Monitoring and Observability
• Solid understanding of:
  • Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • RESTful API development
  • Test-driven or behavior-driven development

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on government or public sector digital services
• Experience with Identity Verification and Authentication
• Accessibility-focused development practices
• Experience working closely with UX teams and research-driven design
• Modern front-end architecture and performance optimization experience

Compensation & Benefits

Pluribus Digital offers a competitive salary that is determined at the time of offer. We are hiring for multiple levels under this job posting. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, with salary ranges aligned accordingly. If a candidate is a strong fit at a more junior or senior level to what is outlined here, we will assess them accordingly and apply the appropriate salary range during the hiring process. Salary is augmented with opportunity to earn annual bonus and medical/dental/vision benefits, PTO, company paid life insurance and a generous 401k match program.
