EverCommerce is seeking an ambitious Senior Data Engineer. As a member of the Data Team, you'll focus on driving operational awareness to our Executive Team and partnering with leaders across the company to improve our business operations. You'll provide thought leadership, influence data architecture, and help build the EverCommerce Enterprise Data Platform.

Location

This role is remote within the US or Canada. We are distributed across North America and accustomed to remote collaboration across time zones. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US or Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain data lake, data lakehouse architecture, storage, compute, pipelines, query engine, data quality, and governance.
  • Develop and improve data ingestion, ETL tools, and connections with downstream systems.
  • Collaborate with BI teams to enable analytics and decision-making to support business growth and retention.
  • Develop internal tracking strategies and ensure proper implementation.
  • Enhance data collection processes, integrity, and reliability.
  • Lead data-focused projects supporting planning, operations, and corporate development.
  • Extract and manipulate data from various systems for reporting and analysis.
  • Transform business questions into data exploration exercises and shape data into actionable insights.
  • Understand and improve data quality within different business units.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience with data lake technologies, AWS Glue, AWS Data Zone, Athena, Redshift, S3, Python, Airflow, Fivetran.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in a highly analytical environment, preferably in SaaS, payments, or tech industries.
  • Strong AWS expertise, including data lake and lakehouse architecture.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud data tools like Fivetran, Redshift, Glue, Athena, Data Zone, S3, Spark.
  • Knowledge of Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Iceberg, Glue Catalog, Unity Catalog, Polaris Catalog, Airflow, DBT.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Docker, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership experience.
  • Attention to detail, ownership, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to handle both high-level and mundane tasks, and maintain confidentiality.

Compensation

The target base salary is $125,000 - $145,000 USD annually, depending on location, experience, and expertise. Final offers are determined accordingly.
