We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our General Ledger (GL) Accounting team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will support GAAP accounting, month-end close processes/journals, reconciliations and flux analysis. This role will be a key player in our GL close cycle with high visibility into our business. The Senior Accountant is detail-oriented with high energy and integrity and thrives in a dynamic environment. You are initiative-taking, eager to learn and contribute, and focused on providing high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and maintain the general ledger for assigned subsidiaries, ensuring accurate and timely records of all financial transactions.
2. Prepare complex journal entries for assigned areas such as payroll and related accruals/accounting, accrued expenses, intangibles and fixed assets, and other areas as assigned. Review work completed by Offshore Team.
3. Analyze monthly financial statements and variances against prior periods/prior month providing concise explanations to support findings. Summarize and present flux explanations to management.
4. Prepare work papers and month-end reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts and select income statement accounts to support amounts reported in the financial statements and general ledger. This includes identifying discrepancies, providing potential resolutions when necessary.
5. Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Revenue Operations, Legal, Tax, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between operations and accounting.
6. Assist with intercompany, lease, debt, and segment accounting processes including M&A transactional accounting.
7. Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls over assigned GL areas and collaborate with the internal audit team to address any identified deficiencies. Ensure compliance with all SOX and IPE requirements.
8. Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to refine and streamline the month-end close and general ledger processes.

Must Haves:

1. 3+ years of accounting experience in a similar field. Experience as a Senior Accountant preferred.
2. BS/BA degree in accounting required.
3. Strong understanding of month-end and year-end close processes of a public company.
4. Working knowledge of US GAAP standards and understanding internal controls.
5. Strong diligence, well-organized and have solid interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to solve issues and work independently.
7. Strong accountability for assigned work.
8. Proficient excel skills will be critical for the success of this role.
9. Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Haves:

1. Experience in a SAAS GL Accounting Role
2. CPA or current CPA candidate
3. Experience with NetSuite, OneStream or another ERP software
4. Experience in Gappify or other accruals automation tools.

Where:

The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. This role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation:

EverCommerce is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 USD per year plus bonus opportunity. Please note that the salary range provided is a general guideline and combines all the distinct labor markets within the US. EverCommerce considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, candidate’s work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
