We are looking for a Data Engineer to focus on our EverPro Mobile Solutions Group (Invoice Simple & Joist). Invoice Simple is the leading invoice app for contractors, freelancers, owner-operators, creatives, and small business owners worldwide. Joist is the #1 app built exclusively for contractors. Our mobile and web applications enable home pros to create estimates, invoices, accept payments, and manage projects from anywhere.

Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with analytics, growth, engagement, and engineering teams to develop long-term data platform architecture strategies.
2. Create and maintain scalable, reliable data architectures; develop and manage data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and integration of data from various sources.
3. Administer and optimize databases like Google BigQuery and AWS Redshift for high performance and reliability.
4. Implement data governance practices including cleansing, normalization, and documentation to ensure data quality and accessibility.
5. Coordinate with engineering and business intelligence teams to implement solutions and resolve blockers.
6. Collaborate with analytics teams to improve data models, increase data accessibility, and support data-driven decision-making.
7. Monitor data quality to ensure accuracy and availability for stakeholders and business processes.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in building data architecture strategies, with understanding of modern principles and frameworks.
• 5+ years of cloud experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure, with at least one large project in AWS.
• Expertise in data modeling, design, and management; hands-on experience with data transformation tools like DBT.
• Experience with mobile app events, payments, subscriptions, and financial transactions.
• Skills in Big Data technologies, database management, data integration, and business acumen.
• Strong development background with SQL and NoSQL data sets; designing complex queries and optimizing performance.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Sisense/Periscope.
• Knowledge of data streaming architectures such as Kafka.
• Proficiency in software engineering principles, with development experience in Node.js/Express, Typescript.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across teams.

Compensation:

Annual salary range: $130,000 – $150,000 CAD. Compensation considers experience, responsibilities, location, and market factors.
