The Bowery Mission is a Christian, faith‑based organization serving people experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty in New York. The Events Manager on the Development Team leads fundraising events and the Thanksgiving Day program, supervising the Events Coordinator and coordinating with volunteers and donors.
You will plan themes, manage budgets, secure venues, and collaborate with other departments to create meaningful experiences that reflect our faith and mission.

The Events Manager is a member of The Bowery Mission’s Development Team that develops donor and volunteer relationships to raise critical funds and resources necessary to extend compassionate care and transform lives at The Bowery Mission. The Events Manager is responsible for the project management and execution of all fundraising and cultivation events that align with Development Team objectives. The Events Manager supervises the Events Coordinator. The Events Manager serves as the Project Manager of our capstone Thanksgiving Day event. The Events Manager is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and understands how we communicate our organization’s faith to different audiences.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Schedule: Weekends and evening work will be necessary in the weeks and days leading up to major events. The Events Manager must be able to work all of Thanksgiving week, including Thanksgiving Day. Regular weekly schedule is Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm.
Salary commensurate with relevant education & experience: $70,000 - $75,000 annually.
