Job Title: Events Executive - 12 month FTC

Location: Remote - based in UK or Europe

Department: Marketing

Position reports to: Events Manager

Salary: £30-£35K DOE

Purpose:

Climate Bonds is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Events Executive to support our events team in the organisation and execution of our global annual events. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, and passionate about event planning.

Events are a key marketing and communications channel for Climate Bonds, providing a platform for direct engagement with senior decision-makers in the Sustainable Finance sphere. Over the last decade, the Climate Bonds CONNECT series has grown exponentially, becoming some of the most influential events in the field, held in cities like London, New York, Mumbai, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and São Paulo.

Working with the Event Manager and the wider marketing team, the Events Executive will engage with external stakeholders, including high-level speakers, sponsors, and internal teams.

The primary responsibilities include administrative and production support for the annual CONNECT series and smaller events, which may be in-person or online.

This role is open to entry-level candidates with at least one year of experience, ideally in corporate events. It requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with digital event tools, and a willingness to learn and grow.

Key Relationships:
  • Report to the Event Manager for smooth event operations
  • Engage with event sponsors during sponsorship deals
  • Collaborate with various Climate Bonds teams and senior management
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as sponsors, speakers, delegates, and third-party vendors
Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in planning and coordinating events, including venue research, vendor management, menu planning, and entertainment bookings
  2. Coordinate event logistics such as speaker and sponsor engagement, audiovisual equipment, and venue arrangements
  3. Manage digital event platforms and update website content regularly
  4. Develop event marketing materials and outreach strategies in collaboration with the marketing team
  5. Serve as the main contact for attendees, vendors, and sponsors, providing excellent customer service
  6. Manage event registration, ensuring accurate data entry and communication
  7. Support on-site and online event management, including setup, registration, and teardown
  8. Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback
  9. Create event proposals and sponsorship packages as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Events, Marketing, or related Communications field
  • At least one year of experience in event planning within a corporate environment
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours when needed
