Job summary

Mt. Bachelor seeks an Events Crew Member for winter season, mainly weekends, with some midweek work and pre/post-event duties. You'll assist with setup/teardown, manage branding, signage, and race-course tasks, and deliver top-notch guest service.

This part-time seasonal role requires a HS diploma, 1 season experience preferred, and a valid driver's license. Expect physical outdoor work in cold conditions, long days, and opportunities for employee perks including season passes, housing options,

Responsibilities

  • Set up and tear down event areas (perimeters, branding, tents, PA system).

  • Help with competitor registration and awards ceremony setup/tear down.
  • Provide professional and clear radio communication.
  • Deliver high level of customer service to event participants.

Bachelor’s mission to deliver memorable experiences, enhance people’s lives, and have fun doing it. From major competitions to on-snow parties and contests, events crew members work hard and have fun setting up, executing, and tearing down events. This is a part-time position, primarily working weekends, with some midweek work and before and after events. Crew members must be available throughout Mt. Bachelor’s complete winter season, which lasts until the end of May.**Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities**Including but not limited to:* Following detailed Instructions from Manager, Supervisor, and/or Lead* Assist Supervisor and/or Event Lead with set-up and tear-down. (fencing event perimeters, branding, tents, PA system, etc.)* Ensuring the safety of event set-up and atmosphere.* Assist Supervisor and/or lead the event coordination, sponsor banner placement, resort branding, and other mountain signage.* Assist Supervisor and/or lead the race course set-up, maintenance, race timing, and results.* Assist Manager, Supervisor, and/or Lead in Competitor registration, awards ceremony set-up, and tear down.* Professional and clear radio communication.* Providing a high level of customer service to all event competitors and participants.**Secondary Function**Assisting and collaborating with other resort departments to facilitate events – HR, F&B, & other departments.**Job Scope**The job operates within the established parameters. The events crew member is accountable for their on-hill staff actions. Seasonal Commitment is required.**Interpersonal Contacts**Guests and other mountain departments.**Specific Job Skills*** **License/Certifications:** Current and valid Driver’s License.* **Technical:** Advanced ski or snowboard ability preferred. Must be comfortable loading, riding, and unloading a chair lift. Other types of over-the-snow travel may be required (training provided).* **Physical Capabilities:** While performing the job duties, the employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work long hours, outside in an inclement winter environment is a must.* **Additional:** + Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. + Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. + Work Environment: This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings, and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom of the area, and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chairlift(s), skis, or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped, and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required, will vary, with an emphasis on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.**Education/Related Experience*** **Minimum Education Required:** High school diploma or equivalent.* **Minimum Experience:** Preferred 1 season related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.**Current Hiring Range:** $16.50/hr**Minimum Age Requirement:** 18+**Come Work Where You Play!***Please be aware incomplete applications will not be accepted or reviewed.
