JOBSUMMARY
Thisposition will provide event support to the Department of Auxiliary Services.The primary responsibilities are to efficiently set-up and breakdown events,maintain equipment inventory and provide quality customer service experiences.
MAJOR DUTIES
Orchestrate event set-ups and breakdowns for Auxiliary Services scheduled events
Provide basic A/V troubleshooting assistance
Manage equipment inventory, including but not limited to chairs, tables, mics, podiums, coolers, A/V equipment, staging and linen
Ensure timely and accurate event set-up
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, faculty and external clients
Transportation of event equipment to various locations on NSU campuses
Lock and unlock meeting spaces as scheduled
General light cleaning that includes but is not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and trash removal
Event equipment assembly and maintenance
Communicate maintenance and custodial issues to Facilities Management
Follows policies and procedures related to emergency and risk management
Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of general event setup practices
Knowledge of general A/V setup and troubleshooting
Knowledge of safety and risk management policy
Skill in problem solving and critical thinking
Skill in communication and interpersonal interaction
SUPERVISORYCONTROLS
The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services assigns workin terms of general instruction, requiring some judgement and interpretation. Thesupervisor reviews work through spot checks as work is being completed.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include university policies and procedures,OSHA rules, and safety procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selectionand interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied event support duties. The variety of functions to be completed contributes to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to assist in event set-up and breakdown facilitation.
CONTACTS
Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, community and business leaders, vendors, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to resolve problems and to provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while standing or walking and often includes bending, crouching or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects and will sometimes be climbing ladders.
The work is typically performed in a stockroom and may include exposure to dust, dirt and grease. Work may also be performed outdoors and occasionally in cold or inclement weather.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Annual salary $30,360.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
