Job summary

Power Plant Live! in Baltimore is seeking energetic Event Staff to deliver prompt food and beverage service in a dynamic dining and entertainment venue.

You will set up and break down function spaces, serve guests according to banquet orders, and respond to guest inquiries with professionalism to ensure guest satisfaction. Requires basic reading/writing, food service experience, fluent English, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve menu items promptly and courteously per banquet order.
• Set up and perform pre- and post-shift side work and condiments.
• Clear tables and remove dirty dishes to kitchen for cleaning.
• Respond to guest inquiries and special requests professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Properly store all reusable goods.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of function space and plating of meals.

Power Plant Live! is Baltimore's premier dining and entertainment destination located just one block from the World Famous Downtown Inner Harbor. Just a short walk from many downtown hotels, Pier Six Pavilion, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Ravens M&T Bank Stadium, and other major attractions, Power Plant Live! is your one stop destination for dining, retail, and entertainment! Amongst all of the venues we also entertain and provide food and beverage service in the common area.

Event Staff Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Serve menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner and according to the banquet event order; time the service of courses to correspond with the dining pace of the guests.
• Perform pre- and post-shift side work; set-up, condiments, etc.
• Clear tables after service. Remove trays of dirty dishes, silverware and glassware to kitchen for cleaning.
• Respond to guest inquiries and special requests promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction; notify supervisor of guest complaints or unusual situations.
• Properly store all reusable goods.
• Perform other duties as assigned which may include assisting with set up and breakdown of function space, and plating of meals.

Event Staff Qualifications

• Basic reading and writing.

• Must speak fluent English.

The Event Staff position requires the ability to perform the following:

• Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds (tables, chairs, trays, etc.)
• Moving about the function areas.
• Moving about the outlet(s)
• Handling objects, products
• Bending, stooping, kneeling
• Withstand potential climate temperature changes in assigned work area.
• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guest, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
