Job summary

Kentwood Public Schools is seeking Safety Event Staff to help ensure the safety of attendees at sporting and Fine Arts events, rentals, and other district activities.

You'll patrol interior and exterior areas, monitor patrons, and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents/guardians and visitors while enforcing the student code of conduct. Must be 21+, high school diploma or GED, and available for at least 4 events per month.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 4 events per month.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for 4-8 hours shifts.
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons.
  • Hearing conversations in noisy environments is required; 2-way radio available.

  • Work Environment: The noise level during events can at times be very loud. Applicants must be able to handle working in loud environments.
  • Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile, and negotiate.
