Position Overview

The Event Specialist plays a key role in delivering unforgettable events that reflect our values and hospitality-driven culture. You’ll bring moments of delight to life for our members, partners, and the Auburn community. This position works closely with the Director of Programs and Initiatives, staff, interns, and volunteers to ensure successful events.

Key Responsibilities

1. Event Planning & Execution

  • Organize, coordinate, and execute events that foster genuine connection and create memorable experiences for our members.
  • Maintain event timelines, budgets, and event logistics to ensure every detail of the event reflects a spirit of hospitality, excellence, and community.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and investors, members, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure event success.
  • Assist the Communications Manager with the promotion of events including use of multimedia marketing tools.
  • Utilize membership database to assist with registration, sales, and promotion of events.
  • Utilize EOS One organizational management system to manage goals and tasks.

3. Program and Initiative Support

  • Coordinate and execute any events related to Chamber programs and initiatives as Directed by the Director of Programs and Initiatives.
  • Assist Membership Services with new and prospective members when necessary.

4. Administrative & Other Duties

  • Complete administrative tasks required to organize, coordinate, and execute all events.
  • Provide staff support for other Chamber activities including member celebrations.
  • Proactively engage with members in ways that make them valued, appreciated, and connected to the Chamber’s mission.
  • Participate in activities within the Auburn community with an interest and attention to current events and build relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in event planning, project coordination, hospitality, or a related role in public relations or another related professional environment.
  • Proven ability to be forward thinking, growth oriented, relationship focused, and servant minded.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to follow through.
  • Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills for relationship building interoffice, in the community, and with members.
  • Proven and genuine interest to serve others with unreasonable hospitality and without expectation of recognition.
  • Ability to thrive managing multiple events and tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with event software, Microsoft Office Suite, and organizational tools.
