This position is considered Essential Personnel under the LRCVB Inclement Weather policy.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To participate and provide supervision to assigned personnel in the set-up and take down of various configurations for events in exhibit halls, ballrooms, and meeting rooms at the Statehouse Convention Center and Robinson Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in and provides supervision to assigned personnel in the set up and tear down of various configurations for events in exhibit halls, ballrooms and meeting rooms in the Statehouse Convention Center and Robinson Center in compliance with client written specifications and/or diagrams and all applicable LRCVB policies and procedures; moves, lifts, folds, sets up, tear down and positions chairs, tables, staging or other equipment as assigned; pushes and pulls equipment dollies.
- Assigns, reviews and monitors the performance of the work activities of personnel assigned to the set up and take down of event spaces at the Statehouse Convention Center and Robinson Center.
- Reviews all room set ups for completeness, accuracy, cleanliness and safety; notifies appropriate personnel of event set-up issues and concerns.
- Receives, maintains and coordinates the transfer of event set up equipment; maintains inventory of supplies, to include chairs, tables, risers, linens and drapes; ensures adequate linen inventory for events; cleans and maintains event set up equipment storage area; provides assistance with monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory audits of equipment; notifies manager of needed supplies.
- Provides assistance to the Event Setup Manager in training and monitoring the work performance of assigned personnel as required.
- Provides technical, administrative and operational assistance and guidance to assigned set-up crews as required.
- Provides technical assistance to clients, Event Managers and Managers on Duty regarding event staging and set-ups; communicates client requests to ensure event services staff are aware of technical specifications for events.
- Answers questions and provides general information to the public; receives service-related complaints; refers complaints to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Attends client planning meetings to provide technical support for events in absence of the Event Setup Manager.
- Conducts and participates in Divisional and Departmental meetings to discuss methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of customer service within the organization in the absence of the Event Setup Manager.
- Operates a forklift in the performance of essential job functions.
- Interacts in a positive and responsive manner with show management, clients, and attendees of events, and general public.
- Must possess certification as a forklift operator within six (6) months of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
