Job summary

Benchmark Hospitality at Deloitte University is seeking an Event Set Up Manager to oversee the Training Center setup operations, equipment inventory, room configurations, and staff supervision. The role involves coordinating with leadership, ensuring quality, and maintaining safety standards in a busy conference environment.

You will manage scheduling, training, and performance reviews, while controlling payroll and expenses within budget.

Qualifications

• 2 years supervising experience required. 1 year experience managing other managers or supervisors required.
• 2 years’ experience in hotel, convention/conference center; knowledge of conference service equipment, set-up styles, and audio visual.
• Strong computer skills; proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint; Teams and OneNote desirable.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, train, coach, discipline and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports; create schedules and approve time off and shift changes.
• Direct staff to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining property policy and standards.
• Coach and develop staff; provide on-the-job training through weekly/monthly meetings with leadership.
• Ensure payroll and expenses align with budget guidelines.
• Assist with setup/teardown of conference rooms and movement of heavy equipment; support IT and production coordination.
