DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC and Crystal City and Embassy Suites by Hilton Crystal City National Airport is looking for their next Event Services Manager to join their Events team.

As Event Services Manager, you will be responsible for event execution between the hotel and the customer during the meeting or event.

What will I be doing?

As Event Service Manager, you will be responsible for event execution between the hotel and the customer during the meeting or event. You will act as a liaison between the customer and the hotel by directing each department within the hotel as to their specific role in the on-site event. Successful achievement of this goal will ultimately result in a major contribution to the re-booking of the business for future dates. You will maximize revenues through effective up-selling of products and services and serve as the event planner's primary contact during the event on property.

Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  1. Provide direction and supervision to affected departments and team members during the execution of meetings and/or events.
  2. Directly serve on-site group and catering customers in a proactive manner.
  3. Organize, plan, and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals.
  4. Communicate timely with internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents, or in person.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes.
  6. Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances.
  7. Sell and influence both internal and external clients.
  8. Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating issues to determine the best solution.
  9. Ensure high-quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand guest needs, providing direction, guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
  10. Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
  11. Other duties as necessary based on business needs.
  12. Regular attendance.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Years of Experience: one (1) year of hospitality-related experience at manager level.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc)
  • Significant experience in revenue management or a similar analytical role
  • Relevant degree in business development or other relevant business field from an academic institution (CMP, CPCE)
