Job summary

BEST Crowd Management is seeking an Event Security professional for University of Wisconsin events in Madison, WI. This part-time role offers $16 per hour and supports a dynamic team focused on safety and customer service.

You will handle setup tasks, monitor access, assist attendees, and coordinate with security staff to maintain a safe environment during events. The position requires flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent (some college education preferred).
• Previous experience in event security or related fields is advantageous.
• Stand or walk for extended periods.
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work in a team with diverse individuals.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays depending on events.
• Possess a valid security license or willingness to obtain one (if required).
• Pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup, including equipment, signage and materials.
• Monitor access points and conduct security checks to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Provide friendly customer service by assisting attendees with inquiries and directions.
• Collaborate with event staff and security to maintain safety and organization.
• Assist in crowd management and control entry/exit points.
• Respond promptly to security incidents following established protocols.
• Monitor event areas to enforce rules and safety procedures.
• Resolve attendee complaints calmly and professionally.
