Job summary

Allied Universal Event Services in Reno is hiring Event Security Officers for part-time roles. Starting pay is $21.50 per hour with assistance for PILB licensing and paid training.

Duties include bag checks, access control, and guest services to ensure safety and a positive guest experience at major events. Flexible part-time schedules under 30 hours/week; opportunities to work at high-profile summer events are available across Reno, Nevada.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
• Direct entry flow: verify tickets, wristbands, badges, and guide guests.
• Screen guests at entry using bags search, wand, or metal detector and verify IDs.
• Protect guests, staff, and venue assets by monitoring for security breaches at checkpoints.
• Respond quickly to crowd control issues and escort unruly guests when needed.
• Understand policies and regulations across various venues, facilities, and events.
• Provide a positive guest experience at entrances, aisles, and concourses.
• Offer directions and suggestions to enhance guests' entertainment experience.

Allied Universal® Event Services is looking to hire Event Security Officers. This position is responsible for checking bags, enforcing access control, and implementing policies and procedures for the safety of the guests and owners, while providing superior customer service for the best guest experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
• Allow appropriate entry into each venue, may collect and/or scan tickets, verify wristbands and badges, direct traffic coming in and out of the venue.
• Screen guests during entry via bag searching, hand wand or metal detector, and ID verification.
• Protect guests, staff, and venue ownership group assets by watching for security breaches at vital checkpoints.
• Respond quickly to potential crowd control issues and provide escorts for unruly guests when ejections are warranted.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the policies, procedures and regulations of different venues, facilities and events.
• Provide a positive experience for guests as they arrive at your facility entrance, aisle, concourse area or other location
• Provide guests with helpful directions and/or suggestions that will enhance their entertainment experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma, equivalent or five years of work experience
• A valid Nevada PILB Security Guard Registration is required upon hire with assistance provided
• Candidates without an active PILB card are encouraged to apply and may be considered for employment pending successful completion of the licensing process
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• As a condition of employment, candidate must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test; additional screening may be required if driving a customer or company owned vehicle.
• Able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
