Job summary

Allied Universal Event Services in Reno, NV is hiring a Part-time Event Security Officer to support major conventions, trade shows, and live events. You will be responsible for entry screening, bag checks, access control, and delivering excellent guest service while maintaining a safe environment.

Starting at $21.50/hour with flexible scheduling, weekly pay, and paid orientation, this role offers opportunities for advancement and is ideal for students, retirees, or anyone seeking part-time work

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma, equivalent or five years of work experience.
• A valid Nevada PILB Security Guard Registration is required upon hire.
• Candidates without an active PILB card are encouraged to apply and may be considered for employment pending licensing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
• Allow appropriate entry into each venue, verify tickets and wristbands, direct guest traffic.
• Screen guests during entry via bag checking, wand or metal detector, and ID verification.
• Protect guests, staff and assets by monitoring security at checkpoints.
• Respond quickly to crowd control issues and provide escorts for unruly guests when needed.
• Provide positive guest experiences at facility entrances and concourses.
• Offer directions and assistance to enhance entertainment experience.

Allied Universal® Event Services is looking to hire Event Security Officers. This position is responsible for checking bags, enforcing access control, and implementing policies and procedures for the safety of the guests and owners, while providing superior customer service for the best guest experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
• Allow appropriate entry into each venue, may collect and/or scan tickets, verify wristbands and badges, direct traffic coming in and out of the venue.
• Screen guests during entry via bag searching, hand wand or metal detector, and ID verification.
• Protect guests, staff, and venue ownership group assets by watching for security breaches at vital checkpoints.
• Respond quickly to potential crowd control issues and provide escorts for unruly guests when ejections are warranted.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the policies, procedures and regulations of different venues, facilities and events.
• Provide a positive experience for guests as they arrive at your facility entrance, aisle, concourse area or other location
• Provide guests with helpful directions and/or suggestions that will enhance their entertainment experience.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• A valid Nevada PILB Security Guard Registration is required upon hire

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• As a condition of employment, candidate must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test; additional screening may be required if driving a customer or company owned vehicle.
• Able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
