Job summary

Merchants Exchange Productions in San Francisco seeks an experienced banquet bartender to deliver a warm, welcoming service during high-volume events. You will combine knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer and wine with a calm, organized approach to keep service moving smoothly.

This role requires 1–2 years bartending experience at large events, excellent English communication, reliability, and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a banquet/events bartender in a comparable setting.
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
• Excellent English verbal and written skills.
• Ability to multitask throughout service.
• Must be a proven self-starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision.
• Available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• A current California Food Handlers Certificate.
• Stamina to work up to 10 hours standing and walking during events.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a warm and welcoming approach to all guests that creates memorable experiences
• Knowledgeable about spirits, cocktails, beer and wine (preparation, techniques, taste profile, origins, varietals, appellations, regions, aromas, etc…)
• Maintain an organized work space to multitask efficiently in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Exceed guests’ expectations at every opportunity
• Read event to anticipate guests’ needs
• Respond promptly and courteously to any and all guests’ requests, questions and concerns
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow team members regardless of duty or difficulty
• Be a contributing team member to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the events
