Job summary

City Park Conservancy in New Orleans is seeking a Seasonal Events Manager to assist the Director of Special Events in coordinating and managing Celebration in the Oaks. You will engage with the public, supervise staff, and ensure a positive guest experience throughout the event season.

The role requires 1–3 years of event experience, strong organization, and solid computer skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint). This is a seasonal, part-time position with substantial on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED; and one to three years of related experience and/or training.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Successful planning of medium-sized and large events.
  • Excellent organizational and communicative skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of computer graphics, e-blasting, Word, Excel and Power Point.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily setup and takedown of driving tour tent operations, including scanners, safety cones, and lights.
  • Oversee and manage driving tour ticket scanners.
  • Troubleshoot any customer issues on-site.
  • Trouble shoot and communicate any Wi‑Fi issues with on‑site ticketing issues.
  • Turn on and off all lights in Botanical Garden each operating night.
  • Oversee and manage the ticket scanners in the Tolmas Center.
  • Make sure all equipment is charged up and ready for each day.
  • Check the grounds on an hourly rotating basis for any light outages and report same to CITO foreman.
  • Handle any/all customer issues

Summary

The Seasonal Events Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Special Events in the coordinat ion and management of Celebration in the Oaks event . This position interacts with the public and manages staff during the event, ensuring a positive experience for all .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned:

Driving tour
  • Manage daily setup and take down of driving tour tent operations, including scanners, safety cones, and lights
  • Oversee and manage driving tour ticket scanners
  • Troubleshoot any customer issues on-site
  • Trouble shoot and communicate any Wi‑Fi issues with on‑site ticketing issues
Walking tour
  • Turn on and off all lights in Botanical Garden each operating night.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Season runs from November 27, 2026 - January 1, 2027 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Seasonal, 31-40 hours per week from November to December.
